Bursting with joy and faith even amid the long exile, this relief sculpture of Jerusalem ceramic depicts a lively klezmer band and a group of dancers in a shtetl street. Just off-center, a little Jewish boy joins his beckoning father in the dance, and symbolically, the European shtetl buildings morph into the skyscrapers of America and finally, into the gates of golden Jerusalem. Embellishments of platinum and 24-karat gold hint at the promise of glory and the hope within the Jewish exile.
